For my money, the best Jane Eyre was made back in 1943. Check out the review here on IMDB:

Orson Welles and Joan Fontaine were the leads and they were outstanding.

I give it my highest recommendation!

In fact, I own the disk...

5. I was more like an adaptation of "The Cliffs Notes of Jane Eyre"
Also, the Jane wasn't plain enough to qualify as'Jane.' She just didn't have on a buncha blush and and lipstick. Otherwise she was beautiful. Of course Mr. Rochester would love her! Geez, who wouldn't?

It's 'okay.' You might want to rent this one, but I wouldn't buy it.
