Why do people post political crap on FB
and then back away when people respond?

A friend of mine posted a biblical verse about not re-electing Obama and then when I called her and her friend on it, she back-pedaled.

Either stand by what you post or don't post at all.

Prayer for Obama....Psalm 109:8

duh

6. The same reasons people post on message boards like this one
The only difference is that you know the people.

8. Many reasons....
Edited on Wed Aug-31-11 07:22 AM by blueamy66
one being that it's great fun to reconnect with old friends and family members....the pictures of the kids are awesome....

The best reason? My fiance's son and I get to talk more. It's awesome when he posts on my Wall. He's a busy kid and telephone time is limited....so we use FB. I get warm fuzzies whenever he sends me a message or posts on my Wall.

Anyway, back to the question at hand...it got kinda funny when the poster's Mom got involved and schooled her daughter....

I have to remember to stay outta the political crap on there and just have fun.

7. FB reconnected me with friends from long ago. BUT (rant on politics)
Edited on Wed Aug-31-11 02:10 AM by av8rdave
It's a double edged sword. A couple years ago, I got a FB message from an Air Force pilot training classmate. I was glad to hear from her, since we had been pretty good friends. She messaged me and asked for my cell number "so we could get back in touch.". A couple days later, I got a call, but not from her. From a campaign staffer soliciting a contribution. Turns out she was running for a senate seat in her state. (She lost.)

Needless to say, I did not contribute! Never did get a personal call.

To make it even worse, she has become VERY right wing. Probably half or more of her FB postings are political. Her heros are Palin, Bachmann & most recently Perry.

Edited for spelling
