Have you ever won anything? I won a fruit cake at a highland dancing competition. I remember being
so embarrassed that I had to go up on stage for a FRUITCAKE!

1. Good for you though, I bet it was delicious. Yummm. fruitcake.
I won a trip for two to Vegas once .... or an option to take the cash. I took the cash and bought a horse. My husband was really angry but only for about a week or so. He also hated horses ..... ha ha.

2. Wow. A horse. I would have loved to have done more serious riding back in my past.

3. I used to rescue babies from the PMU farms that were sent to the
auction mart for the meat trucks. I could only buy a couple at a time - they went from $20 - about $50 each, then trained them and sold them to private homes .... mostly kids who just wanted to ride for the fun of it, as they couldn't be registered. For the money I won though, I bought a registered ex-roping horse - he was amazing, and ran faster than any horse I'd ever had.

4. I love fruitcake
I'd wear a skirt and no underwear up to that stage to receive a fruitcake and never even think of being embarrassed, I love fruitcake that much.

The only thing I ever won was a lottery, the prize was a two year all expense paid no-cut-contract into the army.

7. I guessed how many M&Ms were in the jar. I won them. It kicked ass!
But then again, I was 6, so my definition of kicking ass was a bit different back then.

But someone claimed my prize somehow and I ended up with a (still quite lovely) copy of one of their LPs.

And I am very happy that one of "us" managed to get their version of "Bang the drum all day" as the music on a cruise line commercial. I hope that those who know get lots of smiles from that and that the band made a truckload of money in the process.

11. no - but a funny story from my small town
Way back when VHS tapes first came out a guy opened a videos store. As a grand opening gimmick he gave away a VHS player/ recorder.
Well, small town and he only ran the contest for a week. Turns out he only had 2 entrants for the VHS player - me and the brand new superintendent of schools.
Well, the super won the VHS player. I came || this close.
The store owner told me this story after we became good friends over the years.

12. A 20 lb. bucket of Tidy Cats litter and a bag of Friskies
I won them in a couple of online contests at Kroger. I also won a bottle of Axe show gel. The kitty litter win was very timely. It was when my old man was in the final stages of chronic renal failure, and he was peeing like crazy. I was going through cat litter like there was no tomorrow. The Friskies went to the ASPCA, as it's not what my cats eat. And, Dad got the shower gel. I keep forgetting to ask if ever used it.

Outside of that, I have only ever won were other small items. I never won anything really big. I wish I could win a fruitcake. I love fruitcake. Especially if it has been soaked with brandy. ;-)

13. I won $250 in a sports poll once. I don't even remember if it was the
super bowl or the world series. I am not at all interested in sports, care nothing/know nothing about them. The person holding the contest at work kept bugging me so I bet $1 and I bet on the color uniform I liked. Well I ended up winning and all the sports enthusiast were mad because, according to them I didn't deserve it because I wasn't a sports fan. But they didn't say that when they took my money.

15. I won a ski trip to Steamboat Springs, Colorado in 1999.
I went onto my favorite oldies radio station here in Atlanta and signed up for a drawing. Totally forgot about it until I received a phone call at work telling me I had won. It was 4 days 3 nights and airfare and lodging included. It was for 2, so I took my daughter who lives in South Florida and had never seen snow. Her airfare was also paid to meet me in St. Louis where we switched planes for Colorado. And I don't even ski, but there is a lot to do in Steamboat Springs. I went jet-skiing on the snow for the first time in my life.

18. I won a candy bar selling contest in junior high
I was not popular in school, especially with my teacher, and she didn't like it that I crushed my nearest competition, a "popular" smart-ass POS weasel. I ended up being gyped of the prize promised.

This experience has been one of the most definitive of my life. It robbed me of the ability to sell anything. I have tried to get past it, but no success.

:banghead:
