Yellowstone, Grand Tetons
I've posted a photo album from our trips this year and last year to Yellowstone and Grand Teton parks:

1. absolutley gorgeous!
And you got to see buffalo in their native habitat. I've seen them in Golden Gate Park but that's not quite the real deal. ;)
what is with those stacked stones? Any clue?

4. No idea about the stones
We were just walking through the area, looking at the water, when we realized what we were seeing. The photos don't show just how many there were, spread all across that pond, even out where it was fairly deep. Some of them were very complex constructions.

7. Cairns seem to be trendy lately
These are at Yosemite, near Mirror Lake:

Even on top of Half Dome:

9. Interesting
I had no idea about that.

Setting up the ones we saw must have taken a lot of time and great patience.

5. Picasa reduces the size of the pictures
so what you see in the album is of lower resolution and darker than the original. The originals are much clearer and brighter, but that's the price you pay for free storage, so I'm not complaining. It is unfortunate, though.

10. Unfortunately, they're trying to sell the cabin/lodge
They rent it out as much as possible and live in their condo in Jackson. The economy has been making it difficult for them.
