Apple's "Let's talk iPhone" announcement
So far it's only a slightly faster version of the 4, called the 4S. It's most touted feature....a better camera.

Dozens of people expected to meander to the store in the next month to pick one up.

My 3GS is slowly limping along, you tease all summer, and all we get is a 4 with a slightly better camera?

At least the new iOS 5 will have some more bells and whistles. I'll just buy a 4, I guess. Or I'll save money and just buy an iPad.

1. Android phones are infinitely better than Apple.
Android keeps up with the advancing technology. Apple comes out with a new model once a year, and when a new model does come out, it has a slightly better camera and a little faster processor. I'm willing to bet it won't be 4G-LTE either.

2. And the hype machine surrounding them is getting to be quite annoying.
Apple - you pay more money for last year's hardware.

8. Infinitely better? For real?

Have you read customer satisfaction surveys? Or, have you read comparisons of the frequency of customer returns of Android handsets vs. iPhones?

If you have, it's not difficult to realize that Android handset purchases are either driven by folks that hate Apple or by folks that have been mislead by the belief that beefy specs somehow mean a better user experience.

Apple today revealed the iPhone 4S, its next-generation smartphone. The device makes the switch to dual-core A5 processor, giving it about twice the CPU speed of the iPhone 4 but a seven-fold improvement in graphics performance. The phone also includes a new antenna system, which automatically switches between two antennas to transmit and receive. More importantly, download and upload speeds have jumped to 14.4Mbps and 5.8Mbps respectively, and the device is a world phone, capable of handling both GSM and CDMA networks.

4. I'd buy an iPad before I'd buy something smaller that runs on the same chip...

5. The "Siri" voice assistant is the stuff of science-fiction...

The 4S is a WAY faster version, with 8MP still and 1080p video (with stabilization) camera. Have you owned a camera with those specs yet?

Seriously... Watch the keynote.. The "Siri" assistant is mind-blowing.

Plus, the iCloud integration features of iOS 5 are amazing... I've been beta testing for a while.

7. Me, too...
I'm hoping that I will be able to buy Siri "personalities" at some point... I'd love a "Marvin the Android" type of interaction with my iPhone... "I suppose you'll want me to find you a restaurant now. Here I am, brain the size of a planet..."
