I think I just broke the law or something.
Edited on Tue Oct-04-11 07:42 PM by Glassunion
I just made a veggie burger.

I cooked it in bacon fat and topped it with bacon, tomato, jalapeños and an avocado mayo. I toasted the bun in the bacon fat as well.

It was f$&#ing awesome!!!

Sorry if this offends.

5. On a related note...
Most yogurt sold in cups won't hard-freeze and barely gets thicker than soft-serve when left in a freezer over a weekend. Things I learned at the bank when the fridge broke in the lunch room and they refused to buy a new one. We all had to keep our lunches in the freezer.

Yogurt{is skinnier than}Ice cream.

20. Copa is still open?
I thought all the old South Street haunts were replaced by Abercrombie & Fitches and Banana Republics and stores just like them. Oh and Starbucks.

22. there's still some of the old South Street
Eyes Galllery, Jim's Steaks, Ishkabibbles, Copa and a few others. Isiah Zagar is still decorating buildings. And there's a thriving community garden at 10th & South.

29. I haven't been there in ages. Ever since Dickens got a name change
And my favorite used bookstore got the boot for yet again another clothing store.

But I use to spend all my weekends on South Street bar hopping from place to place and usually ending up at Who's on Third at 3rd and Bainbridge. I still have the T-shirt I won from the bar when I was the first to guess what Charlie Brown's dad's profession was (Charlie Brown's dad is a Barber because the joke is Charlie Brown only has like 3 strands of hair).

The guy who worked the ice cream counter (who was quite happy with the term
"soda jerk") actually had a woman order (and eat right there) TWO banana splits
and a Tab.

OK, OK... as a diabetic, I'll eat a MOUNTAIN of food at a buffet and wash it down
with several Diet Cokes... but NOT two banana splits!!!

23. Nah, I read the ingredients.
No pork...

The problem with that is since there is no bacon in it, you have no bacon fat in which to cook the burger and toast the bun. May as well wash it down with a non alcoholic beer and have a decaf coffee with my dessert.

31. My "hypocrite" burger.
Veggie burger. (Amy's will do, but I prefer Morningstar Farms)
1 or 2 slices Provolone cheese.
Brown Mustard.
4 slices hard salami.

For some reason, I just love this combo. I probably wouldn't like it as much with a regular burger. Besides, I don't really like cooking with hambuger meat.

33. No no no... I made a mayo out of an avocado...
Edited on Wed Oct-05-11 03:31 PM by Glassunion
Avocado, Olive Oil, Salt, Pepper, Lemon Juice and Basil.

Take all of the ingredients and mash together until you have the same consistency as mayo. No actual mayonnaise was harmed in the making of my burger.

35. Sorry... I'm a technical guy and technically it should be called a mayo from what I put in it.
I just substituted an egg yolk with an avocado. So technically it is an avocado mayo...

Realistically I could have called it an "Awesomocado Sauce" as well. Because it was fortified with awesome!

I order the vegetarian sub at Subway with bacon added... Of course just ordering a BLT with onions would do the trick.
