My son's pre-K class has 20 students
Among them are three Bradens, three Jaidens, two Aidens, one Caden and once Cadence.

Got some mad rhymes in the pre-K this year.

5. I had no idea.
I'm particularly perplexed by Caden and Cadence: Cadence sounds like it would be the feminine form of Caden.

8. Olivia, Sophia, Sydney and Samaiah, I'm betting. My kid has 15 girls with those
names in her 38 student cohort. (2 classes.)

9. Gasp!
Branden/Brandon are passe already?! I think there are seven or eight in our school's fifth grade (about 45 kids) alone.

When my kid was in first grade, he had a female classmate named Jayden. This year (third grade) he has a male classmate named Jaden. It's screwing ME up!

10. I didn't know that Brandon was on the hot list when we chose it. We just wanted a nice Welsh name.

13. If today's naming trends make you puke (coined names, odd spellings,
boys' names for girls, etc.) you'll love this website:

http://www.notwithoutmyhandbag.com/babynames/

Samples:

Hello, I was wondering if anyone new of a good site to go to to find a native american name????
Please let me know. I was thinking of using it for a middle name if I found a name that went nicely with the first name.
Many Native names have really cool meanings.
Just wondering.
I am Mohawk if this helps.
Thank you for your help.

Sure you are, honey. Mohawks are widely known for maintaining their traditions - which they have to ask total strangers about - because they're "really cool." This belief is known in their language as "The Mother Spirit is way awesome. Number one! Woooo! Mohawks freakin' rule!"

She might want to consider Karé:ken Kaná:taro as a good Mohawk name. It means "White Bread."

Which name do you think?
Brecklyn Kate
OR
Ridgely Mae
I'm torn between the 2.
Thanks Brooke

And I'm torn between why your name ideas are "Welshman recites New York's boroughs" and "The other guy from Wham."

Why not something hip and modern, like "Stetten Eeland" and "The bassist from Culture Club."

I am a new mother just found out I was pregnant a couple of days ago and my boyfriend has already thought of names and I just wanted to see what other people thought about them. Tequila AnJanette and Angel Jade or Matthew Dillian

I am the owner of a website that makes fun of bad baby names and I've been at this for about a year and I really like run-on sentences that make me sound like I'm 14 and perhaps live in mid-Appalachia like in eastern Kentucky maybe or western West Virigina and have been on a meth jag for seven or eight days and haven't slept and the walls are melting and sometimes the carpet starts talking to me and tells me to name my kids after the booze that helped conceive them or maybe ugly trinkets like my mom collects from QVC.

17. Pennsylvania saw an outbreak of Calebs a few years back
It kind of went along with the Kayla, Kayleigh, Kaylee, Kylee, Kyleigh, Kyla (etc.) surge, but it seems to have passed from trendy prominence.

Evelyn is a lovely name, too!
