. . . It was ALL-consuming -- taking up much of my conscious thought and probably even MORE of my subconscious thought. It might take me days or weeks of working on a concept -- then, when I was ready, I would write it out in one quick burst. A little editing and fine-tuning -- but not much -- and I sucked at hardcore re-writes because they were rarely necessary. . But doggerel or ditties came easy and fast to me. . . I found the Burma Shave 2.0 sign on a Feb 2010 blog. Starting in 1925 and popular for decades, they were ubiquitous on American highways -- usually a four-line little ditty regarding shaving in some way... with each line on a separate billboard separated by maybe 10 seconds of travel -- and capped off by a fifth sign that simply said "Burma Shave". . A brilliant and very popular ad campaign. . This blog had suggestions for signs pertaining to the "Information Highway" -- my favorite (and a very contemporary one) was this: . . .
