3. The funny thing is, he has a point

Before Bush took over, airport screening was done by private companies, and they did a pretty good job most of the time--9/11 being the obvious exception.

The shit that happened after 9/11--the National Intelligence Director, the TSA, all of it--was very much Bush blaming everyone but himself for his ignoring terrorism until he couldn't any more.

We'd be a LOT better off if we didn't have an agency that was purely reactive--exactly how many terrorists do you think are going to bring a bunch of shit on an airplane and try to mix it up in the latrine, when they can just go online, buy a 10-watt CO2 laser tube and its power supply, and sit at the airport blinding pilots on final approach?
