"Downsized" - am I the only person who feels no pity for the mother and father?

The dad - obviously a Republican - is shocked, SHOCKED I tell you, that American Enterprise would fail him. Well, maybe he shouldn't be a Construction Pimp. You see, he is a General Contractor, which means he charges exorbitant fees for him to arrange the cheapest labor he can possibly find. He takes $100 or so an hour, and he pays $8 or so an hour.

Then there's the mom - yes, she's a schoolteacher. But she's had lots of work done, and wonders why her husband gets so bent out of shape when she wants to sell her wedding ring. Huh? Looking like a tightly stretched leather handbag is a necessary expense, but keeping the wedding ring isn't???

And then the house they are renting. Yeah, they have a few kids - but do you really need a McMansion? They're living off of a schoolteacher salary!

I do feel sorry for the kids - hopefully they'll learn from the stupidity of their parents.

as I recall the dad had two kids from a previous marriage and he married the mom, who had five existing kids.
