I do have a question actually. When I was a teen I went there, saw the Arizona memorial and was really awed.
This was twenty years ago and one point that really stuck with me was the tour guide noting oil bubbles leaking up from the wreck pretty much continuously. He said this would last for another 50 years at least.
So was he right? Can you still see oil bubbling up from the ship?
2. Yes. I've got pics of those, too. "The Tears of the Fallen", I think they're called.
I was presented with a lovely, fragrant lei on arrival in Hawaii. It has become tradition for visitors to the Memorial to scatter the flowers of their leis onto the waters at the site of the sunken battleship. I did that, and took pics. I will post them as soon as I can.
4. Thank you. It's good to be home, although I miss shipboard quisine already.
We were unable to make landfall in Maui due to inclement weather, but the captain made amends by throwing a party on the Lido Deck that night offering "bottomless pina coladas". So that made the passengers happy! ;-)
