14. We had a set of those when I was a kid!
Which puts the time period at least in the 50s.

Mom & Dad probably got it for my older sisters, which could make it back into the late 1940s (sisters born in 46 and 48, I was born in 52). We never played it as a balance game. Mostly we used the blocks to add architectural interest to our real wood Lincoln log set.



We also had a wooden set of diamond shapes that we also added to the Lincoln logs. I never saw the original box for those, so they probably were very early toys in our family. I can remember when the Lincoln log box fell apart and Mom ended up designating a drawer in the buffet in the living room for the wooden bits.
