I am continually amazed at how much I love Lady Gaga
I say this as an old fuddy duddy - I would like nothing more than to stand on my front lawn, shake my fist and yell at those crazy kids and their loud music. However I can't stop listening to her latest cd and can't stop dancing whenever a song comes on.

The comedian and frequent Countdown guest Christian Finnegan has this great bit about how everyone has a dance threshold - some have a low dance threshold and break out in dance at anything (sorority girls and gay men) and others have a high threshold - he puts himself with Stephen Hawking. I have a low threshold - I can be trying to talk to my spouse, a song will come on and suddenly I can't stop dancing or at least moving.

2. I like her because she causes outrage among the "novelty uber alles" crowd
Every time I hear someone complain that she's ripping off Madonna or Queen or whatever, her cred increases just a bit.

10. With all of the music in recorded history...
Everyone is ripping off somebody, even if unintentionally.

4. I would go to a restaurant
that served heaping plates of her meat dress.

Her music is really not the kind of stuff I generally listen to and I wasn't a fan at all until I saw her interview a while back (on 60 minutes or some other news show) and discovered she actually has talent. She writes her own stuff and can actually play the piano and just found a gimmick to make her famous and I don't begrudge her that one bit.

IF I had any talent and could find gimmick you can damn sure bet I would use it. lol

And I think she leans more left than right in her politics so that's a point too.

8. the fashion and envelope pushing yes - very similar
however actual vocal ability - esp when stripped down - not even close. Madonna was never really a vocalist

6. Not my style of music, but it's good to have her on our side
She's a weapon, an enormous weapon. If I was POTUS I would just hang out with her with and ask her what she wants and let the cameras roll.

7. I like the idea of her more than the reality of her.
Maybe if the music was better...

12. You know me too. She's terrific.
I'm not too surprised I like her but it's refreshing that she seems very genuine.
