My Mom gave me a treasure a couple days ago.
I was given a treasure this week.

My Father died last year, and my Mom found a little thing that my Dad kept from his time in the Korean War.

She gave it to me.

A vintage 1951 P-38 GI can opener.

A treasure for me.

1. That is so nice.
I found my Father's WWII dog tags.

Worth a million to me.

I have my Uncle's Navy issued knife, which he gave to my father. Both are gone, Dad 16 years ago, and my Uncle 10 years ago.

4. I love those. I have one on each keyring.
And, my father worked in a factory in Long Beach,
building P-38 planes.

Later, he was a SeaBee in the South Pacific, circa 1943-1944

5. I have a few of these everyday items
My grandfather was in WWI, in the Signal Corps. I have a small metal tin that was made to hold a message and get attached to the leg of a pigeon. I have a tiny leather purse made from the finger of a glove that my great grandfather used to hold two pennies (with the two pennies still inside). I have some of my dad's briar pipes and my grandmother's costume jewelry.

These things that show much wear and tear from everyday use are those that I treasure most. They would be completely worthless to anyone else.
