What weird habits do your pets have. My cat Inky cannot wait for me
to set bottles of cold diet coke down so she can lick the moisture off the plastic bottles. I tried to hide them from her when she first developed this habit but it was pointless. She thinks the bottles are presents to her.

When I get home I'll immediately lie down on the bed with her so we can bond. She likes to head butt my body then. Real head butts.

1. Where do I start? Just about everything cats do is weird.
Pixie drinks out of the bathroom sink with water pouring over her head. Watch here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_WsZZ4qsiog

Jeoffry eats rubber bands when he can find them. I have to hide them from him.

Milo tries to knock over the bed table lamp to get my attention, and he walks around the house at night with a toy in his mouth, uttering odd muffled meows.

3. LOL! Yup. Inky will not stuff on the ground from any table she is on.
Cats love to see things fall. I once housesat for a cat whose owner would pour a big jar full of buttons at the top of the stairs and the cat would knock all the buttons all the way down the stairs. I guess it reminds them of playing with prey.

4. Speaking of moisture licking ...
When I bring my two dogs inside if they've been in the rain, the older one licks the younger one to dry her off.

5. Whenever I scratch my cat Butch
he starts licking the air and then grooming himself. Odd, but he's a cat. :)

8. Cat Sonny only eats dry food - except for ham.
Ham slice, processed ham, thin sliced sandwich ham - doesn't matter.

Won't eat gourmet cat food, chicken or turkey or the like. Just dry food and ham.

You don't want to be in the room with that obnoxious cat trying to eat any ham. He won't take no for an answer.

10. OMG, ham!
Milo would kill for ham. I can't eat a ham sandwich in his presence; he'll snatch it right off my plate and run off with it. If I try to keep it away from him he'll try to climb right up my leg, howling like a banshee.

I don't understand why a cat would be so excited by ham.

12. Our new cat plays fetch like a dog
I have never seen such a thing before.
We got him a couple weeks ago as a rescue and oh, lord what a cutie - what a nosy personality.

13. I've seen fetch in burmese cats. I had dinner at a house that had two burmese cats. You'd
scrunch up a sheet of paper into a little ball and throw it and they would fetch it...it was so cute!

15. Just about every cat I've ever known would fetch.
Two of the three who own me now will play fetch with me, although only when they feel like it, not when I do.

14. When my black cat Brigid wants a drink,
She jumps into the kitchen sink and meows her head off until I turn on the faucet for her. What can I do? I can't refuse her water! Of course, she knows it. ;)

Our two cats don't get along but they've managed cooperate in the pooping/peeing department.

23. My dogs hate eyeglasses and the Chinese language
One of my dogs freaks out if I take off my glasses; I have to wait until he's asleep before I take them off, otherwise he growls and barks. Although he seems to be okay in the mornings. This is the same dog that has learned to run as fast as caninely possible to the bedroom the moment the living room is turned off. Pavlov was definitely on to something.

The other dog (both are King Charles spaniels) is the smart one. Though not Chinese, my wife is fairly fluent in Chinese (and I like Kung Fu movies), so we occasionally watch Chines-language movies. We have to put the dogs outside first, though, because she will growl and bark the entire time if the people on TV are speaking in Chinese. Of course, this is also the dog that made us change the fung shui of the home: she was prone to moving furniture in order to create ladders enabling her to get on the kitchen counter. Tool use, essentially.

Yet, despite all of this, we're fairly certain that it's the chihuahua who's the smart one.

she never plays with it or chews it unless I am at the computer, but the second I sit down she grabs her rubber toy comes and props it against the side of my thigh and starts chewing it.

30. Where to begin...
Weird Harold: The tunneler. Will make anything into a tunnel - linens, bags, clothes, rugs - we've got a 10' x 20' Persian rug that usually has a speed-bump in the middle of it. He also forgets his tail is part of him, and he attacks it (the somersaults are a riot).

Charlie: Likes to sleep with his head wedged against the stair banisters.

Crosby: Loves anything with vanilla in it - and I mean LOVES. You cannot enter the house with vanilla ice cream without him knowing it.
