As God is my witness...
I didn't know turkeys can't fly.

Sorry, this just flew into my head and won't go away, though it's been joined by "What does a yellow light mean?"

1. The word "chair" sounds really weird
especially so when high or on psychedelics. O.o

4. Turn it over!
That's not a chair that's an R . . . . .
or an unfinished R . . . .
or a sloppy P . . . . .

When I was a teenager I used to think buffalos were extinct ...

6. Just because a chair is coiled to strike doesn't mean you should kill it.
Instead, check the bands of color on your chair. Down south they have a rhyme.

Red next to yellow
Kill a fellow
Red next to black
Is a friend to Jack.

Many chairs are harmless with so called protective coloration.

7. Turkeys can fly
Don't let 70s sitcoms be your knowledge base.

9. Did the fucking OP say "Domestic" turkeys?
Er, no it said turkeys.

Ergo, turkeys can fly.

The fact that not all birds can fly doesn't mean it's accurate to say "Birds can't fly."

10. Give me a break.
I've seen wild turkeys fly. But just a little; enough to get onto a tree branch.

I was just remembering a very funny episode of WKRP and laughing to myself. Decided to share.

12. I've seen wild turkeys fly too.
Again, just enough to reach a fairly low lying tree branch.(say, 6 feet off the ground) ..but their wings are large and make a very impressive whup whup sound.

13. I've seen them fly a lot farther and higher than that
A couple hundred yards, at least. And, I've seen 'em reach 20 or 30 ft. high. Let's just say that I have seen LOTS of turkeys in my days.

14. Wow.
I've seen two wild turkeys, both within the city limits of Philadelphia, believe it or not. One wandering in our neighbor's yard, and the other, (the short distance flyer) lofting itself into a tree at the outside edge of our lovely Fairmount Park, which is a lot of very wild country in an urban surrounding. Both sightings made the local papers. (It might well have been only one turkey with a lust for fame.)

15. Sorry for not replying sooner.
I was out looking for the meteor shower. But I couldn't see it because the sky was dark with migrating turkeys heading South. I wonder where they end up. Could it be ..... Turkey?

16. You don't know a god damn thing about the migratory patterns of wild turkeys do you?
When turkeys fly to Turkey they have to take the Northern Route, so they can stop to rest in Iceland and Greenland.

Turkeys can't swim, if they took the Southern Route they'd drown before they made it to the Azores.
