What would you do with a $400 shopping spree?
The catch is, you MUST buy non-returnable stuff, i.e., you can't angle for cash - you have to actually spend it. LOL

3. Where can you spend it -- what kind of store?
Someplace in particular, or anywhere you want to?

If it were anywhere, I think I'd be sensible, take it to the grocery store, and stock up on good basics like meat, cooking staples, tp and paper towels (NO KOCH BRANDS!)

12. I'd buy LyricKid a warmer winter coat that fits properly and some winter boots.
I'd probably spend half of it on groceries--some for us and some for my Mom. I'd buy cat litter and food. Soap, shampoo, razor blades, TP. Some 409, dish soap, bleach, and laundry stuff.

If I had anything left after that, I'd buy some more inexpensive bulky-weight yarn so I can make scarves, hats, and mittens for the needy people I know. Winter's coming.

33. He wore a men's size medium earlier this year. It might be a large by now, I'm not sure.
He's only 11, but he's very tall and broad-shouldered and in the middle of another growth spurt. He's not the least bit overweight; just BIG. The coat he has right now fits him fine in the waist area, but it's too tight in the chest and shoulders, and the arms aren't long enough.

He's probably going to end up being a really big man like most of my uncles, even though his Dad was only 5'10" and of average build. He's the biggest 11-year-old boy in his school.

13. What kind of store are we talking about?
A Walmart or Target? With or without a grocery store? A pet store? An office supply store? A grocery store? A fancy department store, like Dillard's? Amazon.com? I can't answer that one, until I know who is handing out the shopping spree.

15. So, basically, you're saying...
...it's a $400 Visa gift card that one has to buy stuff with? Well, then... I would head over to a Super Target that has a grocery store. I would replace my 20-something-year-old TV set with a nice 26" or 32" flat panel set. I would also pick up a better antenna. With the money that's left, I'd head over to the grocery section, pick up some good salmon, a few bottles of nice wine, and a some other grocery items that I cannot afford at the moment. And, a bag or two of kitty litter and treats or a toy for my cat. If I opted for the smaller TV, I would use the difference to buy some curtains for my bedroom.

Edited on Thu Oct-20-11 10:05 PM by Lucinda
I wear the same few comfortable clothes until they fall apart. I have crazy bad joint pain, so comfort is everything. Hence the comfortable chair on my list. My furniture is pretty, but i have to pile up pillows and sit on them to be able to get up again. And a kindle.

My husband needs some new sneakers; I could use some winter boots; the boy should probably have something water resistant to wear when it snows (he doesn't like boots).
