Is anybody but me into vocabulary quizzes?
I used to love the "It Pays To Increase Your Word Power" column every month in Reader's Digest. I'd turn to that page first. Now, it is the online Merriam Webster vocabulary quizzes:

Am I the only language geek hanging out in the Lounge?

2. I love the Readers Digest vocabulary quizes, too
It's fun to see if they have any words I don't know. Usually I do pretty good but the most recent one was all sports words and I didn't even take the quiz, just read the answers.

And yes, I still read Reader's Digest. My Dad gives me a subscription every year and I blow through it, mostly reading the laughter sections and a few of the articles. Surprisingly, now that they are close to going out of business, they are getting less conservative. You can check them out online: http://www.rd.com/

4. I use to read it all the time but lately it had become Republican Digest
and it was a bit annoying

14. Thye've always been very conservative
But recently I've seen a few articles that seem to indicate they are moderating. Most of the time I just skip the articles that have much of a slant and read the humor sections and the word quizzes.

13. I'm not sure they have their quizes online
I looked and didn't see one either. It may be at their subscribers only section. I don't read it online, just the hard copy Dad has sent to me.

12. It's a rite of passage in literate families: first time the kid
does better on "It pays to increase your word power" than the parent.

Proud moment.

15. How about this one...
Pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis

That was one of my 9th grade vocabulary words.

16. Nope, not the only one!
I used to love "It Pays ..."

I always got at least nine out of ten. But I'm a word freak. My wife calls me Lexicon Man.
