I think the conversation where it ended with that line best highlighted the compromise by institutions the show was trying to portray from the drug organization POV.

25. I now have the series, and just finished watching it again a few weeks ago.

Well worth the repeat viewing, saw so much stuff I had forgotten.
Dominic West now "fits" as McNulty. and I adore Wendall Pierce..he is such a good actor.
