My new camera comes tomorrow via QVC, my first ever SLR.
It is digtal with two lenses, everything.

I always wanted a really nice camera.

A small insurance check from my Father will be paying for it.

Before he gave me the insurance policy he said cash it in and get something you really want.

I am, it is a Cannon.

I have always enjoyed taking pictures, now I can be really serious about it.

This is like waiting for Christmas morning.

1. Good luck with it! I still use film, but I keep reading and reading about digital.

2. I like digital because I take lots of photos.
I still have a film camera but never use it.

This camera will take video also.

I have used a SLR but never owned one before.

3. You'll love it!
My first DSLR was/is a Nikon, simply because I had a 35mm Nikon that I could use the lenses from on the DSLR.

The first trip we took after buying it, we took something over 1500 photos. Filled up a bunch of CDRs with the pictures. It was great, because we didn't have to worry about buying and developing film.

I had gotten two 1 GB memory cards for the camera. Each night, we took the cards into Wal-Mart and burned all the pictures to CDR so we could fill them up the next day. That also let us review the pictures to see if we needed to go for better ones. It was a bird watching trip, so there were lots of opportunities to improve on the shots we already had.

So get extra memory cards, practice burning CDRs and have a lot of fun with your new camera!
