10 inches of heavy wet snow due here in SWNH tomorrow. The
leaves are still on the trees. They are predicting high winds and a classic Nor'easter. This does not sound good. :-(

1. hunker down and stay safe
we're a few days on the other side of a similar storm. nine or ten inches of wet snow on trees with all their leaves, a whole lot of broken branches everywhere.

2. It's the tree damage that worries me. Last time we had one of
these, my road was impassable for a week and the power was out for 2 weeks. BUT, I've got plenty of propane for my generator and oil in the tank and food and scotch and my dogs and my knitting. Only thing bumming me out right now is that Will and Cailen won't be coming up for the weekend.

4. Yes. I think that was a non-event compared to what this storm is
shaping up to be. They are now saying over a foot of heavy wet snow and wind gusts up to 60 mph. Not good.

6. Might want to do some cooking of that food too if power might
go out. I'm gonna make chicken and potato salad; stuff we can eat cold if need be.

9. You forgot:: Stock up on scotch...check! I'm on a well for water and
I have a generator that automatically kicks in when the power goes out. It's powered by an underground propane tank. I almost passed on putting the generator in when I built this house but it has turned out to be the best thing I did. The biggest problem up here would be if the dirt road I'm on becomes impassable and I couldn't get out in an emergency. In the big ice storm of 2008, the road was blocked and the Town sent the Boy Scouts up here on snowmobiles to check on us.

10. Yeah, this is not my favorite thing right now. On the other hand, maybe some snow on
the roof will make the trailer feel a bit warmer. Wish we'd already gotten the snow tires.

Stay safe!
