This "Sweet Genius" show on Food Network is some sick-assed FUN.

Not only is Ron Ben-Israel (the host) a disturbing sort of guy...a combo of Mike Meyers' characters "Dieter" from "Sprockets" and Dr. Evil from "Austin Powers"...he drags the contestants through "Iron Chef"-style challenges, but the "secret ingredients" are things like BONE MARROW and SQUID INK, and these dishes are all supposed to be dessert-style SWEETS! Oh, and one of the other secret ingredients was BUBBLE GUM.

His accent is petty heavy...at first I thought he was telling the losers "You are NOT the Swiss cheese" until I realized he was saying "sweet genius."

1. Watched it for the first time at the gym today

2. I saw it for the first time today... 4 back-to-back episodes... it was almost hypnotic.

I also like the way the contestants' eyes bug out and they smirk and sneer while he's tearing their competitors new a-holes. Then it's THEIR turn and they ALWAYS look SHOCKED!

I think this is my new favorite show.

I saw the episode where the chefs made beer and choc desserts.

and a surprise ingredient halfway through the process. Diabolical. Love it.
