Have you ever won the 'Consolation Prize'?
You know...you didn't win the Beemer or the cabin cruiser in the raffle, but you got the Consolation Prize.
You held the SECOND number drawn.
You got a can opener.
Manual, not electric.

So...what was your consolation prize, and were you consoled?
Inquiring minds want to know.
;-)

1. Yup. That's what it was called.
I entered a poster contest for the fire department when I was in fifth grade. I drew a wooded mountain with all the forest animals fleeing from it because of a raging fire.

I was actually okay with the consolation prize. Even I could see that the winning posters were a lot better. In addition, they gave me a very realistic plastic fire hat.

:dunce:
