The Chronicles of Narnia has got to pull the biggest mindfuck on the children.

Four kids stumble into a closet and find magical world with fanciful creatures. They embark on a great adventure and become literally royalty and rule ove an entire world for years well into adulthood.
Then they go back through the closet and suddenly they're back to children as if all those awesome years never happened?! How do they not jump off tower bridge after that? How do they possibly restart their lives knowing that they ALREADY grew up once before?
4. Well yeah, I've said that, but then I'm not an actual king
It's not like they could've become royalty again. Sure they could use those lessons they learned while royalty, but as far as they knew, they were never going back to Narnia. They went from a beautiful, open world back to dark pre-WWII London.
One day you are working, ruler of your own little financial empire, next day you are unemployed, and it's worse then being a kid 'cause nobody's gonna pay your bills.
