F*CK ALGEBRA!!! a rant from a disgruntled History major
Did you know that the rule of Algebra in subtraction is when you subtract, you add to the opposite of the second #:wtf:

For example
2-9=-7:wow:

I figured out what mathmaticians are, they're acid freaks that write these fucked out of their mind rules while they're stoned off their ass.
:argh:

8. A history major will probably not get to "Diffey-Q."
I loved algebra (high school) and calculus (through differential equations). I treated math like a puzzle. I worked all the problems at the end of the chapter (not just the ones the prof assigned) and I had a 4.0 in my math courses at Georgia Tech. P-chem was a different story.

17. "Honk if you Passed P Chem".Bumpersticker seen on various campuses.
Had to take two semesters of calculus based P chem for my degree. The next year they lowered requirements to one semester of non calculus based P chem, aka baby P chem.I tell myself that all that frustration was character building.

3. That's not algebra. That's arithmetic.
2 minus 9 equals minus 7.

I was a theatre/english major and even I know that.

14. Arithmatic my ass, it's ENRON economics
"Hey Mr. Lay we lost 15 million in oil sales in the US."
"What about oversees ventures?"
"We lost 24 million on that also sir."
"Well hell according to the laws of algebra, we made 9 million dollars:silly:."
You see -14-(-24)= 9

See this is how it starts.

5. If you have two dollars on the bank, and you pass a check to buy something
Edited on Tue Apr-06-04 09:32 PM by JCCyC
that costs $9, you now owe $7 to the bank -- provided your check didn't bounce.

owe = negative. Hence, -7.

9. Heh... It'd be 35 for mine.
Unless of course the 9 is a simplification of 5+4 or 3+6 or 3+3+3 or any other combo. Then it'd likely be between 50-100+ dollars. :(

20. If you want to really fuck up your mind, think about discrete math
Discrete math gets down into the nitty gritty of math and set theory... it makes addition and subtraction look like incredibly complex operations.
