99 Beers On the Wall Revisited
Thanks to those of you who helped contribute to this thread. Here's the list we compiled, with a couple of additions to make up for the brews that are no longer with us (may they RIP).

I've included as much info on distribution as I could, to save a little footwork.

While it may be tempting for some of us to ignore the inclusion of Miller products, O'Doul's, and the like; I'm going to take the opportunity to try them along with the others. If nothing else, it'll help me appreciate carefully crafted brews more...

Cheers! :toast:

4. Hinano (#47) is available in at least the 50th State
where it is the preferred brew of outrigger canoe paddlers (a near-major sport in these parts). It is sometimes available on special (i.e. at an almost semi-reasonable price) at our Foodland supermarkets.

I distinctly recall the party after the Moloka'i Hoe (cross-channel race from the island of Moloka'i to Waikiki; nearly 30 miles) one year. Hinano was the sponsor, so the cans were two bucks each, plus contemporary Hawaiian star Keali'i Reichel performed for free! Yowza!

U.S. distributor is, if memory serves, Tonga Trading Co. in Honolulu.

9. No Ommegau? No Corsendank?
Ommegau I could see leaving off, it might not be very popular outside NY state.

But leaving off Corsendank? That's available at all good beer stores everywhere, and is one of the best of the yeast-heavy beers you'll ever find.

Still, a darn fine beer list you offered.

11. 99 is but a drop in the bucket!
These are from the "99 bottles of beer" thread I posted a couple of months ago:
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=105&topic_id=780094

After weeding out the wiseacre posts, and adjusting the count where necessary, we finally had a list of 99 beers. A few are on the obscure side, but in searching for info on these, I was amazed by how much beer is out there waiting to be tasted.

13. Yes, there is a truly amazing amount of beer, isn't there?
And thank God that in the last decade or so so many micro-breweries have sprung up, and that even the belt-buckle sporting pack-of-cigarettes-in-their-t-shirt wearing type of guys are actually finding beer with taste to be more interesting than Bud or PBR or Red White and Blue or that damnable Miller and all their abominable variations.

They don't bottle it, though. Except for growlers. :D

There are still a lot of folks (even Democrats!)who look on micro-lovers as "beer snobs" and guzzle republican brew without batting an eye.
