1. The wrestling cycle is in a deep valley.
Resulting from the all heel strategy, hard to know who to root for if there are no baby faces. WWE monopoly is also very negative.

I miss the early eighties when Ric Flair and Kerry Von Erich had their run in Texas.

2. So how did Guerrero supposedly beat Goldberg?
Wasn't Goldberg the champ?

4. Yep... the old WCW was far more creative
Found a way to do wrestling without half of it being soft porn, for one thing.

I had a friend that made it up far enough in the promotion to be beat up on television regularly by the stars. He shaved his head and played a Russian. The good guys would punch and kick him for a couple of minutes and then beat on him with a flag, or some other "All-American" implement. Hacksaw Jim Duggan, for example, beat him with 2x4s a lot.

6. No... Volkov and Iron Shiek were stars in comparison
My friend went by the name Colonel Lenin or something like that. He was one of those no names that always lose and are just on to make the stars look good while the stars are being pushed for a big match against another star in the promotion.

7. Giabronies, couldn't have syndicated wrestling TV without them.
You had to have a bunch of guys the stars would beat up, "squash matches", on the way to the Saturday night show or Pay Per View. They took the most abuse and got paid almost nothing in the hopes that they could one day have real "issues". Some very tough and very naive dudes.
