Pictures of a spider ...
Quite a while ago, someone posted pictures of a HUGE spider (one photo was of the spider behind a clock) ... does anyone know where I can find those pictures? Either on DU or somewhere else?

TIA! :hi:

3. Blah!!!!
Not quite! YUCK!!!

The photos that were posted before were quite scary (to someone who is terrified of spiders!!) .... the spider in the pics was on the wall in someone's home and the thing was so big you could see its' legs out of both sides of a circular clock! :scared:

Thank you anyways ;)

4. Well
glad I could freak you out, anyways.

If you want your hair to stand on end visit the page and hope to hell you never run into one.

Although I view the Potato bug two ways, as a giant grasshopper, or a giant spider. In one way, its cute, in the other, it would make me run as fast as I could.

5. Them nasty things.......arrrgh
I was petrified of potato bugs when I was a child. I'd run screaming if I ever saw one. They're still icky but at least I don't run screaming any more.

I remember that spider behind the clock picture. I hope it turns up again. I do like spiders.

2. P.S.
I should mention that I already tried a search on DU archives. I guess I'm more relying on someone else remembering those pictures and giving me some advice on how I can successfully search for them (haven't been to successful as of yet!!).

10. Good question!
Normally I don't look at spiders if I don't have to, but we just had a average-large spider in our home and it made me think of those pictures. My cousin hadn't seen them so I wanted to show her how gross they were! We're both scared of spiders ... so what better way to spend a Saturday night than looking at them! ;)

11. Spiders from the Middle East......whoa
Glad we don't have these in the US. I like spiders, but I do have my limits. <shudders>

"10 April, 2004
I've had at least 4 emails from people who have been sent this photo from the US troops in Iraq. They look like camel spiders and I've been sent photos before from people who have found this spider in the Middle East."

12. I would geek out...
I'm talking freak the hell out. The only consolation I'd have is that the thing is so big I could beat it death.

And this is coming from a Vegetarian.... insects have done me wrong too many times.

13. Ugh. UGH!!!!!
I don't kill spiders that I find in my house, as a rule. I prefer to relocate them. But if I ever found the spiders that the soldiers are holding in my house, I think I'd move. They could have the house. Those are as big as puppies, yikes. If I was in the service and I got sent where those spiders were, I'd have to go AWOL and walk home. I don't care how far away it is. I would never close my eyes again. How do these guys sleep? The hair on the back of my head is standing up. YIKES.

14. A musical interlude......
Look, he's crawling up my wall
Black and hairy, very small
Now he's up above my head
Hanging by a little thread

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Now he's dropped on to the floor
Heading for the bedroom door
Maybe he's as scared as me
Where's he gone now, I can't see

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly

There he is wrapped in a ball
Doesn't seem to move at all
Perhaps he's dead, I'll just make sure
Pick this book up off the floor

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

Creepy, crawly
Creepy, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly
Creepy, creepy, crawly, crawly

He's come to a sticky end
Don't think he will ever mend
Never more will he crawl 'round
He's embedded in the ground

Boris the spider
Boris the spider

15. Here are some good photos of spiders
Though I'm sorry none are depicted behind a clock. But if I kick this, someone who knows just may see it.

17. Not a fake
One of those crawled across the wall in almost the same place when I was living in the countryside in Japan... when it moved you could hear the pitter-pat of its legs on the wall's surface.

I have photos but not scanned so I cannot share. It was about as big as a thirteen year-old's splayed hand, so not quite as big as this one.
