Poll question: Golf fans : will Phil finally close the deal today?
Edited on Sun Apr-11-04 09:14 AM by DoubleDigitIQ
He starts the day tied for the lead with Chris DiMarco at -6, two strokes ahead of a group tied at -4.

Will this be the day? Will he finally break through and win his first major?

Or will he make one of infamous low-percentage plays and once again go down in flames?

1. Ernie makes 5 Birdies and an Eagle to shoot 65 and win by 2 strokes
I like Phil and would luv to see him win and I want to see victory finally for him... but, I have this gut feeling, and I hope I am in error, that he will come close but no cigars.

2. Can't predict
The hallmark of Phil's game is it's unpredictability. He goes from brilliant to train wreck so quickly.

I hope the best for him because I'd like to see the "monkey" of never winning a major off his back....but only Phil can make this happen...or not.

3. Poor Phil! I hope he doesn't fall apart. He does seem to be
on a bit of a roll, so I'm pulling for him (even tho I voted "some other disaster").

Go, lefty!

5. Yeahhhhhh Phil Proves me wrong, Ernie shot magnificent But Phil shot one
better.

The choker on old today did not fold.

3 consec boogeys and it looked dim,

last nine in 31 with a must birdie on the 18th, with 1918171625237129181625344401918.009 people from around the world and in their graves watching, this cool cucumber drains a 20 footer for the Grn. Classic finish for a classy guy. Congrats to Phil, it was his DAY.

Ernie has his jacket already(and other Major Titles) but gave it his best only to see Phil give himself and the crowd a thrilling ending this place will long remember.
