Stop auction of puppymill rescues!
----- Original Message -----
A Tennessee judge has ordered the seized dogs of a convicted animal
abuser to be sold at public auction on October 16th. These animals
consist of over 200 purebred Maltese and will be sold intact, most
likely to other puppy mills.
Maltese are one of the top selling dogs in puppy mills and it is not
uncommon for these dogs to fetch over $1000 at Midwestern puppy
mills. Foster homes have provided loving care to these animals and
were shocked by the judge's ruling. They are now faced with putting
the dogs they vowed to protect into the hands of a similar or worse
fate.
We are working to legally halt this auction, but as a last resort, we
need to collect thousands of signatures to present to the Tennessee
Governor. Please take a moment (it honestly only takes a VERY short
moment!) of your time to sign! the petition.
You can view an image link to the petition at

Feel free to use the image link to put on your own website. Crosspost
this message or a link to the petition to all dog related lists you
are on!
Thank you!

2. Gotta take care of the weakest among us!
You don't get much more helpless than a puppymill dog.

5. That judge is a bonehead.
Poor dogs, after what they have been through and now they have happy home and he wants to put them in a situation that they can be abused again.

Good luck!

11. NO! This is really terrible
We really must enact much tougher animal protection laws. We are doing well in NY State, but still have a long way to go and so many other states lag way behind. My dog, Sara, would have been gassed if she had remained at the shelter she was brought to in Ohio. She got loose from someone, and I have had her long enough to imagine how she managed this, but, though she's a great dog, almost lost her life for this. Luckily she made it to a rescue group in NY and we found each other.

Thanks so much for posting this. It is really unconscionable. I love little dogs and Maltese are about the sweetest. They certainly don't deserve this.:grr:
