I use JSP at work (small software company). JSP pages in themselves are fairly simple. It's the backend with Java Servlets and Java Beans where the real work is. JSP pages are basically HTML pages with calls to Java Bean elements. I use them to dynamically build HTML pages that need results from a database. I will build the HTML code in java (depending upon search results, criteria, page layout, specifications, etc.) and load the HTML code into a Bean. When the page is rendered, it will call the Bean, and render the HTML contained in the bean.
