Protest at RAF Lakenheath

Four people were arrested today as peace protesters staged a demonstration outside the main gates of an American airbase in Suffolk.

Around 100 members from the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND) descended on Gate 1 at RAF Lakenheath at 1pm for the “Three Strikes and Your Out” protest.

The demonstrators claim that the US Air Force stores 110 nuclear bombs at the base and uses its planes to bomb Iraq and Afghanistan. The protesters also say that Lakenheath could become home to US Missile Defence interceptor missiles ...
