Protest the School of the Americas
Nov. 21-23, 2008: Converge on Fort Benning, Georgia
The annual November vigil to close the School of the Americas at the gates of Fort Benning will follow the presidential election by two weeks. It will be an opportunity for the progressive movement to push for the closure of the SOA/WHINSEC and to set an agenda against oppressive U.S. foreign policy, whatever the result of that election will be.

When Obama is president, we will have to get him on board to close all of our schools of torture.

1. I doubt Obama will get on board with this
The true progressives of this country will not be able to go back to sleep once Obama is in office. There are too many blue dog Dems in Congress, and the militarization of our country is going to take a long time to undo. Keep mobilizing, organizing, and protesting. The fight to clean this country up has just begun.

2. Wednesday the work begins anew. Join us in Fort Benning.
It is the premier protest event in this country: multi-age, multicultural, multi-faith, multi-fun.

3. I would if I could afford the trip
But I just graduated school and am still looking for a full time job. I got a shitty ass one through a temp agency, but the quest for a decent paycheck at the moment eludes me. I graduated in IT, so there are good jobs out there. I just need to find one, and when I get one, I will very likely join you next year or maybe the year after. But I will be with you in spirit.

5. AMERICAN BRAIN WASHING OF THE WORLD COMMUNITY
It is unfortunate that the word "school" has become so misused.

It is very similar to the idea that has become increasingly prevalent in recent decades, and which I believe originates in America.
That is the idea of a lifetime of learning, by means of one's "mistakes", such that the only way through that contrived maze is
the adoption and internalization of what has become American ideology. Forcing its ideology by use of any means, inclusive of
neuro linguistic programming, social engineering, and manipulation, becomes the "school" of life for many, far beyond the
borders of the United States.

When protesting the "school" of the Americas it might be better to protest the entire system which seeks to force its own
over valued ideas upon a world that scarce knows how to resist the persistent psycho social violence.
