Time for Major Protests to Start?
Edited on Wed Apr-21-04 10:24 PM by Quixote1818
I was thinking that as the war has gotten out of control the protesters have disappeared. What's going on? Where are they? Who else thinks it's time to start a major Internet grass roots plan for a march on Washington to protest our IDIOT president and his insane policies? The sooner the public starts to uprise the sooner we get out of this mess. The longer we wait the more likely it will turn into Vietnam and we will simply loose thousands of more lives and thousands of more civilians will be killed in Iraq.

Bush keeps saying we must stay the course but their is no realistic good outcome from what I can see. What are we on course for? It seems we are simply in one hell of a screwed up situation. If now is not the time to start major protests then when do we start? I think it's time for action. Who is with me and what can we do to organize something so big the world will have to take notice?

5. I think MoveOn is too mainstream, white middle class for large protests
but International Answer is holding them all the time. They're good. I'm not sure how many times I've protested Bush and/or the war in Iraq in the last three years. They have all been inspiring and uplifting events.

3. Rally - Take back America
http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=104&topic_id=1395585

That idea is being expressed at the above link that was sent to me through email. I signed up today so I could respond, but I need to get in from the original link. In going to the direct link, I am not allowed to reply. If you can find it, could you send a link back here?

Anyway, there is a picture posted there of 20+ flag drapped caskets being loaded inside an airplane. It has been suggested that Memorial Day would be a great day to organize a rally (Protest creates resistance, a rally is a positive meeting)in Washington DC with 700 cardboard caskets drapped with flags and marched by the White House.

There is over a month to plan it, but this world needs a HUGE rally. I've been making a list all day of groups that would be interested in participating.

6. "Ten Million Citizen March for Peace"
How about a "Ten Million Citizen March for Peace" at the Republican Convention? That would send a clear message to the world that the great majority of Americans are moral, compassionate people who do not support the greedy, paranoid warmongers who have hijacked democracy.

7. Demonstrations are planned
Demonstrations are being planned by both International ANSWER and United for Peace and Justice.

Please see www.internationalanswer.org or www.unitedforpeace.org for details.

Also, there is an online protest on the 29th August for those who are not able to attend the protests in New York on the eve of the RNC, for more on that and to find out how to register to take part please visit http://geocities.com/tellbushtheworldsaysno
