Paper Ballots, Hand Counted? - A question for your election officials

Paper Ballots, Hand Counted? - A question for your election officials

"An MIT/Cal Tech study done in 2001 shows that manually counted paper ballots are the most accurate system out of the 5 systems used in the last 4 presidential elections. They are totally verifiable, and first-world nations across the globe still use them, including Canada which counted their last presidential election in four hours."

Hi,

A few other activists and myself are now asking election officials how they feel about going to a "paper ballot, hand counted" voting system.

We're still fielding opinions from election officials, but we've spoken with several at the local and state level and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback.

If you could help out in getting some opinions from election officials and casually ask them:

"Would you consider using paper ballots, hand counted, and at the precinct level for your elections?"

Most officials think that paper ballots are still an option, but we've been getting some reoccurring worries:

1. The media will pressure them on election day for results.
2. They are not going to have enough people to count the votes by hand.
3. By seriously considering this option, the media will think that we are crazy.

We have a strategy for dealing with these concerns that could very well work, but we could use your help.

If you can ask your election officials if the Media stopped pressuring them for quick results and there were plenty of volunteers to help count the votes by hand, would they want to use such a system?

Also, please send their feedback with any contact info, like their name, county or state office, and email or phone number if you have it.

Please send and email to contact@americanether.net with the subject line "Paper Ballots"

thanks,

ether
