Just went to the website, looks like they are screening movies for one week runs, from Friday to Thursday, which means we might have to go to that Friday or Saturday screening if we don't want to do it on a work night.

it's within walking distance from BART .

Interesting because Laffayette is not a Liberal

Is the theater in Oakland close to Bart ?

I could use a cocktail or 2 or 3 about now.

Edited on Sat Jun-19-04 11:03 PM by Hell Hath No Fury
and post back to the thread. :hi:

Saturday could be a bit ugly, but doable none the less.

Just remembered: Saturday is Pride in SF, which means the City could be tied up, especially downtown.

Okay, here are the immediate Bay Area theatres it's playing at:

San Francisco, CA AMC Van Ness 14
(downtown, parking nil, up from BART by MUNI, good for post-movie food/bev)

San Francisco, CA Century Empire Cinema 3
(small neighborhood theatre in West Portal, parking bad, nowhere near BART, fair for post-movie food/bev)

San Francisco, CA LCE Metreon 15 and IMAX
(really downtown -- effected directly by Pride, parking sketchy, one block from BART, fair for post-movie food bev)

Daly City, CA Century 20 Daly City
(one block from BART, free parking, un-hip area, good for post-movie food/bev)

San Mateo, CA Century 12 Downtown San Mateo
(unknown to me)

Berkeley, CA Landmark California 3 Center
(if I remember correctly: close to BART, parking bad, good for food/bev)

I have not been able to locate any times for the films yet. Are we looking at late afteroon (4pm on) or evening (8pm)?

And I just remembered I'm going to be out of town on Saturday. :( I'm back up in Tahoe slaving on the house.

44. LOL!
:hi: I haven't seen you around here for ages!

Well, as you might have guessed; the devil fools with the...

My in-laws are coming up this weekend from LA. My husband's sister will be doing a reading from her latest book this Sunday, over in Berkeley. Not only does the movie look impossible - going to Pride probably won't work out either. Our 10 and 15 year old nephews are coming up, too (sweet and intelligent boys, btw).

Obviously, I'm reluctant to drag them all to Pride. I have nothing against harnesses and chaps but hey, the boys are a bit too young for this event.

How did that B&B work out?

Best to you, GrandmaBear!! :hi: :toast: :hi:

45. The B&B worked well, 94114,
but she announced she was selling it the next month and going to (Vermont?) and it probably won't continue as B&B! We enjoyed it while we were there. Good tip!

I've been in a hibernation mode for awhile. Spring does seem to be arriving, though.

Leave the choice about your nephews viewing the Pride parade to their parent. After all, kids who live in the City see that stuff.

Enjoy the weekend! Sounds like it will be full.

to sell out . Berkeley sounds good too . I'm just not

Actually, I found out about a new Jazz club in Fremont and they're having big night on Saturday. So now I'm leaning toward Sunday, but I'll meet you guys on Saturday. Just need to know when and where so I can get ticket on-line ASAP!

This mexican food place seems pretty close .
I've never been there though. I'll go by there tomorrow

The Old Spagetti Factory is within walking distance of
the Theater. They have a bar if you would rather do Italian .
Actually lots of stuff within walking distance of the theater .

48. Kind of a wierd merlot-ish....
The original was just too hot pink, so Mom had it toned down a bit. :)

I'm doing the eaves on the two tall sides of the house these days. I almost broke into tears when I put the second coat of white on them -- it's going to take three coats to cover the dark grey!

If I never paint another eave in my life it will be too soon....

But, I wil be putting in Mom's new front garden this weekend as well, so that will be something a little different and more pleasant.

Mom will be having another shindig when everything is finally done sometime in mid August -- I hope everyone will be up for a work-free Tahoe weekend! :hi:

61. I'm in!
Just saw f911. LOVED IT. Wish I could have seen it with a large group of fellow progressives but I had papers to finish and had to watch it with my girlfriend.

Did you see the photos from Michael Moore's website?! OMG, we broke box office records

Are there meetup events for other gatherings??

64. Not sure.
But probably not.

Old Mr. R. had heart surgery and is still in ICU. We've gone daily to visit.

We're scheduled to watch a video about Fox at a Move On house party on Sunday evening.
