Call on Sen. McCain to stand up for Kerry against the Swift Boat Vets!
It's a brutally untruthful ad, and it WILL have some impact. So the idea in the thread below suggested calling on McCain to back Kerry up. They are friends, McCain has great respect for Kerry, and Kerry defended McCain when BushCo used the same tactics on McCain.

1. Are you kidding?
McCain is a bu$h supporter. He will do anything to help him "win". There's not a snowballs chance in hell he would dare come out against those guys.......they are republicans and they are doing this for bu$h. We've only just begun to see the lies that will come out on Kerry. These people are evil and drunk on power. I'm bracing for the worst.

2. McCain and Kerry are good friends, and Kerry stood up for him in 2000...
when Bush did the same thing to McCain.

So we remind McCain he has a DUTY to do this...and if you can't stand up for a friend (who he says he respects greatly) who is being smeared then you are a small, small person..and it speaks volumes about the type of leader you really are.

I may be naive, but I think McCain would be above all this. But at LEAST we should make it an issue.

8. don't lump them together
Not all republicans are evil.

McCain supports his party, but he's a straight-shooter, not a lackey.

4. Thank God
But McCain has to make his voice louder, BushCo cannot ignore McCains statements. I still wrote him an e-mail.

6. I wrote John McCain
and thanked him for his courage in publically denoucing the smear campaign against Kerry. While at his web site I also noticed that he had a statement on the "Defense of Marriage Act" that was pretty good.

I disagree with McCain on most issues but sometimes he gets it right.

He should be commended when he does get it right and challeged when he doesn't.

7. McCain is a good man
He holds several positions that I oppose, but I would trust him as President.

I used to feel the same about Colin Powell, but he lost his credibility when he toed the party line for Operation Iraqi Liberation. What a waste.
