ACTIVISM ALERT: Write a letter to the editor about Bush's war record
Since obviously Kerry's war record is going to be slander for the next 100 days let's make sure the truth gets out there by getting letters to the editors of our local papers about the truth about Bush's wartime record.

Obviously the Bush campaigners are hoping that with all the questions about Kerry's record that the voters will forget that Bush basically was a deserter during Vietnam.

Here's my letter to the Wilmington DE News Journal

Bush vs. Kerry’s wartime record.

Sure, we’ll probably see or hear about the new campaign ad from the Bush supporters featuring the “Swiftboat Veterans for Truth” (none of which ever actually served on Kerry’s swiftboat). They’ll try to convince voters that Kerry’s record in Vietnam was based on lies and deceptions and therefore Kerry isn’t qualified to be president.

Personally, I don’t care what Kerry did in Vietnam; for all I care the guy could have peeled potatoes for two years. But with all these distractions on Kerry’s war record is to hopefully get the voters to forget the most overwhelming facts about Bush’s war record.

Bush used his father’s influence to get out of the Vietnam War and into the Texas Air National Guard. Bush was suspended from flying for failing to show up for a physical. And Bush has still not accounted for where he was during most of his service when he transferred to the Alabama National Guard. The Military defines AWOL as anyone who is absent for less than 30 days and Deserter as anyone absent for more than 30 days. Bush was absent for several months during his tenure at the Alabama National Guard and that makes him a deserter. I’m sure if Bush was just an average Joe and not the son & grandson of 2 prominent members of the Republican party made a big difference in dealing with Bush’s desertion.

If you’re going to cast your vote this November based solely on the candidate’s war record then make sure you consider both of these records thoroughly. Even if you think there is some sort of flaw with Kerry’s three Purple Hearts, Bronze Star and Silver Star, at least Kerry was actually there in Vietnam. Since Bush’s dismal record can barely compare to Kerry’s record, the best the Bush supporters can do is to slander and distort in hopes that undecided voters will think it’s actually the truth.
