Protest Bush in Santa Monica, CA, August 12, Thursday
Edited on Fri Aug-06-04 11:28 AM by joefree1
Bush is Coming to LA: Emergency Protest
Protest Alert: Bush coming to Santa Monica, CA, August 12

Thursday., August 12, 4 pm
Santa Monica Airport
Corner of 31st St. & Ocean Park Blvd
Santa Monica

On Thursday, August 12 President Bush will breeze into town to hold a "Presidential Gala" for his political base: "The haves and The have-mores" as he smirkingly calls them.

While Bush is partying with his cronies, Iraqis and U.S. soldiers will continue to die in a war and occupation fought for oil and the big money corporations. More and more, people here and all over the world are growing in their anger and disgust for the suffering caused by the Pentagon’s ruthlessness, Wall Street’s greed and Bush’s right wing agenda of racism, bigotry and cut backs here at home.

Let's take it to the streets on August 12 to Demand:

Bring the Troops Home Now!
U.S. Out of Iraq!
End the Occupation!
Stand Against Racism Here and Abroad!
Money for Jobs, Healthcare, Education, Welfare, Housing; Not for War & Occupation!

****

Look for us. We'll be there with DU graphics and a huge Bush Puppet. The puppet will be even taller with a paper mache skeleton body and hand holding money and missiles.

4. Protesting Bush, a.k.a., President Putsch
I understand that a number of Bushies have been heckling and trying to drown out Kerry and Edwards as they are trying to address the crowds on their western train tour. This can only reflect badly upon the cretins and backfire with the electorate as did the veterans TV ad smear attack on Sen. Kerry's military record.

We must not repeat the mistakes of the Repubes otherwise we will do more harm and good.

I was a part of the 1960s war protests. But with only 3 months, We don't have that much time to change opinions. If we are too "anti" this and that, we will put voters off rather than enlist them. I would urge caution, calculation, and politeness if you wish to accomplish your (and my) goals.

I strongly suggest messages aimed at enticing the undecided and winning the sympathies of moderate Republicans.

No more foreign invasions without foresight or foundation
No more failing economic policies
No more welfare for millionaires

Kerry-Edwards = THE RIGHT STUFF

KERRY- EDWARDS = RIGHT, NOT RADICAL

BUSH - CHENEY = OUT OF TOUCH, OUT OF CONTROL. OUT OF A JOB

BUSH - CHENEY = THE WORST HELL IS YET TO COME

7. CodePink to join protest
August 11, 2004

In case you missed it: Bush will be in town tomorrow at the Santa Monica Airport fundraising for his campaign, mud-slinging commericals aimed at distracting voters cost a lot of money to make. But all the money in the world won't help Bush disguse the mess he's made over the last four years. So let's help him remind the voting public of his accomplishments in office as we show up in force on Thursday.

Be sure to come out on tomorrow as we give Bush the pinkslip. The CODEPINK pinkslip will be unfurled to make sure Bush gets the message. We'll be meeting at the corner of 31st and Ocean Park Blvd. in Santa Monica (In front of Salon Vox) at 2:45pm. We hope to see you there!

Spread the word, invite everyone you know!

p.s since we'll be working hard tonight to get ready for tomorrow, our usual Vigil in front of the Federal Building will be canceled.

peace,

Claire, Jodie, Nancy, Tiffany
