Democrat Barbara Boxer’s prospects of being re-elected U. S. Senator next year have improved in recent months.
The most recent Field Poll reveals 48% of voters are inclined to re-elect Boxer and 41% are not inclined. This represents a reversal from April, when 43% were disinclined and 38% inclined to re-elect the Senator. In simulated match-ups she also leads each of four GOP individuals who have been reported as possible candidates for her seat.
Among the four Republicans included in the current poll, former California Secretary of State Bill Jones currently leads Congresswoman Mary Bono, former U. S Treasurer Rosario Marin, and Toni Casey, former Mayor of Los Altos Hills in preferences for the GOP Senatorial nomination, which
will be held next March.
These are the findings from a survey conducted among 1,040 registered voters in California July 1-13.
