Dean IS the Devil, So Stop Saying That He Isn't!
I think my brains are leaking out of my ears . . .

Democrats are lucky to have 9 excellent human beings to choose from, each of which has more kindness, wisdom, and community spirit in their little fingers than Bush has in his whole blackened little heart.

Two of those candidates are skilled politicians with proven records of electability and excellent records as public servants, and both have a good shot at the nomination.

We Democrats should be riding high right now - we are lucky to have good candidates and a public which seems to be waking up to the evil pervading the current administration.

Please take a moment and count your lucky stars. Georgy is on his way to being a zero-election wonder. Keep the focus on what your candidate has that this country needs - there is so much of that to share with each other.

Signing off now - play nice, kids.

3. Your brains are leaking out.
My head is about to explode. I love Dean. I love the way he speaks for me. I love how he's making it possible for whatever tiny little contribution I can make to matter . But Gore was my first love. What if he comes back? What will I do then? How will I choose? What will I do? I can't decide. It's too hard.

4. I (heart) Dean too
Edited on Wed Jul-30-03 09:29 PM by ProfessorPlum
He is like the candidate I've been waiting for the Democrats to run for years. But all of this intra-DU hatred is starting to get to me.

Sorry, I guess in the interest of full disclosure I should have stated right at the start that I support Dean. Let the flames and wild accusations begin!

5. Things are getting thick
The closer the various competitors get towards the goal the more they bump into each other. The closer the candidates' supporters get to the first 'poll' that matters, the Iowa Caucus, the more intense the rivalry gets.

Simple competitive theory at work. Calls for calm, etc. won't dampen the rivalry and intensity of the competition because those calls are seen as being part of the competition as if it were some backhanded way to tell someone to shut up.

Dean has gotten some great press lately. He has a fundraising lead that comes from countless numbers of people giving small sums of money. Those who support other candidates feel they need to attack the supporters of Dean to make other doubt their possible support for Dean. I believe this happens often in all different types of contests that are measured in drips and drabs.

9. Yeah, I understand it
But it's the really hateful idiots who are making this forum such a nightmare. Allow me to bitch without assuming I'm an idiot, please?

11. I give everyone the benefit of the doubt
even the real idiots who think the whole purpose of this is to see how far below the belt they can hit.

I just need to remind myself once in awhile that most common reasons why people 'attack' is out of fear.

14. I'm sorry I was a bit snarky there
I'm in a bit of a bad mood and headache tonight. Visions of the Democrats, reflected in reverse on a gold ring, arguing, while Chimpy laughs and fire consumes them all . . .

12. You might want to be thankful for some of us hateful idiots
We'll fight tooth and nail for the honor of our candidate...if you really care about your future, you may want to do the same.

15. If the honor of your candidate is being besmirched
you are in the presence of another hateful idiot.

I will certainly stand up for my candidate against the Republicans, and donate money and work to get his name out in my community, and research his position and vote for him.

I'm about done arguing with some of the sophists on this board, though, who take anti-X positions without any tether to logic. I can't help tweaking them a little bit, even so.

makes it out of the primaries. At least then you can get into the fight.

21. I'm already in the fight
My candidate is Dean, and I'm working my little heiny off here in the great state of Delaware to make sure he crushes your puny candidate.

Seriously, I just am amazed at the treasure trove of vitriol we seem to have discovered here recently.

26. That's what I want to see!
Get ugly if you have to, I'm uncommitted at this point but Dean is very high on my list.

I hope that you realize that there are Kerry supporters on this forum comparing your candidate to Hitler, and suggesting that he ran a police state in Vermont. That's dirty politics but the mods are not going to stop it, I asked them. You will have to fight to stay viable, issues are important but they're hard to get across if your candidate( and his supporters) are considered wimps.

27. Yeah, that kind of stuff used to bother me
but I don't think many people are going to be swayed by that level of argument, if you know what I mean. I'm all over the "police state" issue. Check out that thread. N_J is actually easy to shut down if you just call him on his bullshit and laugh at him.

Either that or he went to bed already. I should get going, too.

Keep fighting the good fight.

19. I appreciate healthy debate
I like it when people have fire in their bellies and are willing to go out with a fight. I hated the 2002 elections when the GOP just marched the Democrats over the cliff without the Democrats putting up a tooth and nail fight.

I'm just meant to comment that the vitriol isn't unusual.

6. Dean got chocolate in my peanut butter!
I used to be a Dean supporter, but this was the last straw! When I confronted him about this he said "No, you got peanut-butter in my chocolate!" What a jerk! That's when I realized he's the second-coming of Hitler.

10. As I suggested in another thread...
everytime on of these pinheads run these threads (not this one...i'm smart enough to recognize sarcasim...), we should donate cash to the Dean campaign, then post the amount they helped raise in their thread....might shut them up and send them off to do something useful...like get off their asses and do something for their candidate that doesn't have them sitting in their undies in front of a computer screen all day...

I'll have to do some analysis of the threads to calculate how much I can actually afford, but this is a brilliant idea. Turn the negativity into a positive.

We'll all adopt a known Dean basher and contribute so much every time they post a bash. Like being a sponsor for those read-a-thons we did in grade school...

25. Different standards
I think everyone is going to have to come up with different standards. I think mine is going to be every anti-Dean post that goads me into responding, I'll contribute $1 to Dean. If it turns into a flamefest or full scale debate, then I'll contribute $5.

Dang, now I'm going to have to make a database in my palm pilot.
