Loretta Sanchez for CA governor?
She says she might run.

Sherman joined Democratic Reps. Cal Dooley, D-Hanford (Kings County), and Loretta Sanchez, D-Garden Grove, who suggested Tuesday that the unpopular Davis may not survive the October election -- and called on Feinstein to put her name on the ballot. Sanchez also suggested that she might run if Feinstein doesn't.

"I have been in San Francisco all day. Almost everybody I saw just said, 'Aren't you Loretta Sanchez? You run, girl," Sanchez said Wednesday. "I'm telling them I hope they'll vote no on the recall, and I truly believe we deserve a choice. So let's hope Dianne decides to get in."

1. SENATOR SANCHEZ
I think that Dianne Feinstein or Arianna Huffington should be governor. Then, in 2006, we can have Loretta Sanchez run for senator and California will have two of the greatest senators in the country: Barbara Boxer and Loretta Sanchez.

2. One Democrat Only
Davis will avoid being recalled if he is the only Democrat on the ballot. This will make Issa mad for sure.

4. too big of a risk
Davis will avoid being recalled if he is the only Democrat on the ballot.

nice theory, but what if it's wrong? if Davis loses, and Davis is the only dem on the ballot, then the dems lose.

it would be dumb for the dems to bet everything on a man whose approval rating is in the low 20s.

3. no no no
This speculation is harmful. Davis is the Democratic choice--no recall. We can review the situation in a few days after the budget being passed has "sunk in." If there IS to be a Democratic name on the ballot, it should be the lt. gov. Bustamante. This only makes sense.

If the state courts rule a certain way, we may not have a successor election anyway.
