Willie Nelson Promotes Dennis (please circulate)
WILLIE ON THE AIR
Willie Nelson's radio ads supporting Dennis for President will air this week in Iowa. Besides endorsing the candidate, the ads also advertise Willie's Labor Day benefit concert in Des Moines. The radio spots are running on a number of Iowa stations, will expand to more stations in Iowa and then to other states.

You can listen to the ads on our Willie Nelson page:
http://kucinich.us/willienelson.htm If you go that page, you can make an online donation to help us increase the number of stations that air these ads. Send any Willie fan you know to that page.

DEAN SAYS: "I'M NOT YOUR GUY"
Again distancing himself from a progressive agenda, Howard Dean was quoted on healthcare reform in today's New York Times: "My plan is not reform -- if you want to totally change the healthcare system, I'm not your guy." Dean advocates incremental changes that leave insurance giants in the center of healthcare.

By contrast, Kucinich supports a commonsense plan of national health insurance for all -- a proven success in industrial democracies far less wealthy than our country. Kucinich says that only by eliminating the waste, bureaucracy and profiteering of insurance companies, can everyone be covered -- a sentiment echoed by Physicians for a National Health Program.

Incremental change over the years has left 40 million Americans uninsured and millions more underinsured -- a failed approach, says legendary public health physician and Kucinich endorser Quentin Young: "You can't leap an abyss in 2 jumps." For more on the Kucinich plan:

KUCINICH ON THE AIR
Congressman Kucinich's speech at the recent event hosted by Sen. Tom Harkin in Iowa will air on C-SPAN this coming Sunday night, as part of "Road to the White House." It's scheduled for 6:30pm and 9:30pm Eastern and Pacific. Check local listings. Spread the word.

Tomorrow, he will discuss issues of war, peace, economic justice and sustainability at California's Commonwealth Club, a speech that will be heard on public radio stations in the coming weeks. Stay tuned to
http://www.kucinich.us.

QUOTE OF THE DAY
After President Bush's news conference, Kucinich commented: "The President failed to reestablish the credibility of his Administration. At this moment of crisis, while the lives of America's sons and daughters are on the line in Iraq, the American public deserves the truth, not spin."

PLEASE FORWARD this email to your friends, even the few who are not Willie Nelson fans.

2. The heartland has been sooooo devastated by industries going
overseas,

---by agri-business taking over, driving farmers out of business and tying them to no-profit contracts,

---by general corporate deviant behavior, that Dennis's programs should really RING A BELL THERE!!

And here too: 25% unemployment, devastation of the environment pushed down our throats...

And everywhere, DK's message RESONATES!!

5. A bunch of people are going to go from Minnesota to Iowa
People are going to Iowa to attend Willie Nelson's concert for Dennis. There aren't too many particulars yet, but it's coming together.

Check the Minnesota for Kucinich website often for details.

Be a menace for Dennis!

8. Its so hard to explain to people why we support Dennis
and its not just issues I have others too the man has a great work ethic in my opinion he makes all the votes he can. It would be interesting if Harkin endorsed him I like Harkin and I think he as a liberal and fellow midwesterner could probably see DK has the right stuff.

9. Hi, JK!
:hi:

It's not hard when we just let Dennis speak for himself. His own words win more people over ever day.

He is truly the most thoughtful politician I've ever encountered. When he speaks, it isn't soundbites, it isn't rhetoric, he speaks from the heart. And he backs it up. He does his homework, and he knows what he is talking about. I think we all tend to put more trust in those who speak from the heart and mind, and not from a manipulative place. After GWB, we need someone we can count on. We need to know that if he says it, he means it, and he will be working for what he says.
