Media Tenor monitors/analyzes media coverage weekly...
http://www.mediatenor.com/index1.html

Unfortunately, it seems they only analyze the 3 major networks, but in any case, it's interesting:

From August 02 to August 12, ABC presented the most positive coverage of Kerry, compared to the other networks. On ABC's evening news, positive reports on Kerry exceeded negative ones by almost 20%. During the same period, coverage of Bush swung negative by 14%.

NBC presented the most negative reporting on Bush with a balance of 15% more negative than positive reports, while reports on Kerry had an 11% positive slant.

CBS presented Bush in a balanced light, without a predominance of negative or positive reports, but covered Kerry with an overall positive tone.

About Media Tenor:

Every week Media Tenor issues its Slant-o-meter, comparing the tone of coverage of George W. Bush and John F. Kerry in TV networks and other media in the past week. Presented in a single chart, it shows the difference between the share of positive and negative statements on Bush and Kerry. The Slant-o-meter allows the public to differentiate how each media presented the candidates in a more positive or negative way according to very precise criteria.

Media Tenor is monitoring and analyzing the media coverage of the presidential elections. The aim of the research is to highlight trends and tendencies of reporting in U.S. media, particularly broadcast news programs.

The Media Tenor Institute is an independent and non-partisan organization, founded 10 years ago and based in Bonn, Germany, with offices in Pretoria, South Africa, Ostrava, Czech Republic, London, U.K. and New York, U.S.
