I applaud you for what I perceive to be your evenhanded coverage of the news. That being said ,do you know if the network plans to have any partisan(democratic) panelists commenting on the RNC? There was a lot of that during the Democratic Convention and now poof! We see only one side. Frankly, I would have rather seen both with NO commentary, but as long as they are doing it,I want to hear both sides!

I do think he answers his own email. His replies are nearly always very short and for that reason alone, often cryptic.

I think because he does read most of his own emails, he sometimes responds in a paranoid fashion, totally out of context to the poster's intent.

Frankly, I can't blame him for "overreacting" if he's getting loads of angry emails each day. I KNOW he really gets extremely defensive when placed in the position of trying to defend all of CNN or even worse, all of the news media. From his point of view, he is only responsible for HIS reporting and I suppose that is reasonable.

If he feels he is being attacked, he will become defensive & almost reflexively misinterpret (or ignore) any information/points you are trying to convey. I think this happened about two years ago with Will Pitt and it was unfortunate, IMO.

Brown can be a pain and erratic, but he seems to have more residual integrity than most, so I've never thought him hopeless.

I have written to him several times...never heard back, but never really asked a question.

I think he tries to be really fair, to tell both sides, & he looks at important issues more deeply than other news shows.

He seems like a serious, thoughtful journalist.

And that is really all we can expect.

I mentioned the lack of Dems around and this is what he sent back...

"have you actually watched the program. If you had you would know we have done this exactly the same as we did the DNC. Exactly. Wow"

And I really like his show....
