ABC News's jawdropping idiocy
their late night moron news anchors announced a segment about how "events in the real world" could draw attention away from the political convention.

They contacted representatives from both campaigns asking them about a breaking news story that could change everything, and asked them how their campaigns were coping.

What shocker were they referring to? Was it the hostage situation in Russia? The 12 Nepalese executed in Iraq? The hurricane?

NO! IT WAS THE FREAKING KOBE BRYANT NONSENSE!!!!!!

1. Tell me you made that up.
Because I don't want to believe it. I can't believe it. I think I must be insane because nothing seems to be real anymore.

2. One would hope that ABC News would do its job....
... and not let the Kobe nonsense get in the way. Allow the other networks to do whatever they want, but stick to issues of long-term importance (i.e. war and peace, poverty and health, etc.)

3. Well, last night on MSNBC's After Hours
the consensus was that the negativity of Miller and Cheney probably wouldn't be focused on because of the Bryant case AND the hurricane!

In keeping with this, our local Gannett rag, the Las Cruces Sun-News had a banner ABOVE the paper's banner about how the Bryant case had been dropped!!

SEEEEEEEEEEE????

(They also seemed to run 2 separate AP stories about the Cheney speech, basically saying the same thing...I wonder why?)
