Does Dan Rather have another ace up his sleeve?
Will the next CBS story be "Destruction of Bush Records". It seems pretty certain that someone (Burkett?) was ordered to destroy these memos and not make copies. That person retyped the memos and made enough changes so that they could not be legally called copies. I think that is what Ms. Knox meant when she talked about "not getting into trouble". Those retyped memos were what Rather aired. The next phase will be the "truth" behind the memos.

3. I was thinking the same as you...
Dan Rather knows who Karl Rove is. The biggest weakness with a person like Rove is that they always assume everyone else is an idiot. I wonder if Karl isn't the fly in the web this time, too.

6. Rather is going to raise the ratings on 60MIN 11.
And he couldn't find a better way as far as I am concerned.

Maybe it's because I've watched a poker tournament, but I think Dan Rather is playing a little "Texas Hold 'Em" with everyone. In the face of all the controversy with the documents, he's been suspiciously calm.

I don't believe he's dealt his trump cards yet. Either he CAN prove that the docs are genuine, or he can prove that someone tried to set him up. Or maybe he has additional evidence that will definitively seal Bush's fate. Sometimes a poker face can work TOO well, LOL!

7. Is our journalists learning?
From past experience i would say Rather was incapable of such guile as was Cronkite. Might spot it, can't do it. I don't know about others behind the scenes although it also appears other brass and the lawyers were similarly not worried.

This would be the kind of trap I would lay constantly for this johnny one note mis-administration.

For some reason we have bred a whole generation of guileless nervous and too well paid news and political personnel meandering in a wasteland of low citizen participation, low ratings and less power.

Sorry. I'll have to see some results first. Even the CIA traps have had little effect and THEY are under direct management assault. Those of us burned by expecting same cunning opposition by Tom Daschle are always left holding the same old bag of a man in a position to think and act instead under siege to the point of helplessness.

They are whupping you at fraudulent checkers, so why not return the favor with some brilliant chess?

8. I hope he does have something. I want to see Rove fail.
CBS is Pro-America and Bush is Anti-America!!!
