Does anybody believe a person who, in essence, says this:
"Hey, I'm for Obama and everything, but why couldn't he take the $100 million and feed the homeless?" (I mean, aside from lurking freeptards ...)

Is this the new "I'm a lifelong Democrat, but ..."?

They've got their scripts ... they all sound the same ...

1. I don't know, but my answer is always the same:
"Because you touch yourself at night."

2. I must be missing the backstory
I haven't seen these sorts of posts, and maybe there's some conspiracy afoot. But on its face, I'd wholeheartedly agree that feeding the homeless for $100M sounds like a great idea, and it's a pittance up against the overall size of the stimulus bill (which is what I assume you're referring to). Maybe it should go in a different bill, I don't know, but feeding the homeless sounds like a bedrock progressive principle to me.

3. This comes to mind "Give a man a fish, you feed him for day. Teach him to fish, you feed him for a
lifetime."

It's a good idea to put programs in place that put people to work. It feeds more people and for a longer time.

Of course, emergency food help is also important but ongoing food help comes through a better economy.

5. I say job training for the homeless. Hell, job training for whoever wants it.
When I was a kid I had an idea for a sort of one-stop shop for homeless people and the working poor. You could have one of these in every major metro area. It would provide job training seminars/workshops to help them find work. It would also provide dormitory-style housing and basic health care for X months as long as the person is actively engaged in searching for work and/or taking full advantage of the job training opportunities. Give them a decent set of clothes to work in/interview. And once they get a job they have Y months to find a place to live (assisted by the institution), and be given classes in personal finance.

It would never work, but a man can dream.

6. Yes, but ...
there are people who can't fish. They're severely handicapped, either physically or mentally. Or they have a terrible mental illness. Or they've been traumatized by war. Teaching people how to do a job is all well and good, but not everyone can work.

8. HuffingtonPost is FULL of these 'trolls' as we call them. They even
go so far as to take a moniker like "yesIvotedDem" then eviscerate the President and all Democrats, especially progressive democrats. The reason why I remember this troll the best is because he's the second one I successfully reported and had removed from the site.

Not that it kept him away, mind you. He came back under "Clintonite2009" and starts attacking again. I told him to behave or I'll report his behind again, and then he plays dumb. Anyway, it was him and I haven't seen him in about three days so perhaps he got the message and is working under another moniker since most trolls have at least 3-5. :freak:
