Can they maintain what appears to be a lead in investigations that might rival the lead the Washington Post had during Watergate?

2. CBS has a much wider audience by leaps and bounds..
It will take a mammouth like CBS to bring the Chimperor down. CBS kept the Nixon Watergate investigations in the public eye. Here's hoping for a repeat of the same. :toast:

4. VIACOM is much better then the rest!
They have both CBS and Infinity Radio (Howard Stern).

I would love for VIACOM to become a TRUE LIBERAL balance to NEWSCORP!

6. Uhm..... No?
I think I would hate having a massive corporation like VIACOM supposedly in the left's corner. Because ultimately, the goals of a free people demand a return of the airwaves to local control; we should not be beholden to any organization that would oppose that.

3. What's the story at CBS?
I mean, where did they find their Edward R. Murrow soul? I had given up on them when Dan Rather lost it on Letterman and kept saying things like 'terrorist murderers' over and over again. But now, they are doing great work. Just tonight, their evening news had exclusive stuff on the Plame outing, the prisoner abuse or something. There are so many Bush scandals, I can't keep them straight.

Anyway, keep going CBS. I'm sure Bush&co will supply more story material in the months ahead.

5. As I recall, that appearance by Rather was on 9/17/01...
only 6 days after the 9/11 attacks, and he was having a hard time holding back the tears. He also said something to the effect of just give the order, Mr. President; I'll do whatever you say. That's not an exact quote, but I think it gives the gist of it. I was upset to hear something like that coming from a newsman, but we were all pretty unnerved at the time.
