How bad is this: "Distort D'Newsa" now a CNN analyst
From mediamatter.org:

Controversial right-wing pundit and author Dinesh D'Souza has a new title -- "CNN analyst." On June 5, during coverage of former President Ronald Reagan's death, D'Souza (known by some as "Distort D'Newsa," according to 1985 and 1991 articles in The Washington Post) appeared on a CNN breaking news segment; on June 6, D'Souza appeared on three CNN programs: Lou Dobbs Tonight, American Morning, and Anderson Cooper 360. On the latter two programs, the anchors -- Soledad O'Brien and Anderson Cooper, respectively -- identified D'Souza as a "CNN analyst."

As an undergraduate in the early 1980s at Dartmouth College, D'Souza gained national notoriety as co-founder and editor of the conservative newspaper The Dartmouth Review. During D'Souza's tenure as editor of the Review, according to a September 22, 1995, article in The Washington Post, "he off-campus newspaper published an interview with a former leader of the Ku Klux Klan, using a mock photograph of a black man hanging from a campus tree, and 'outed' at least two gay students."

From 1987 to 1988, D'Souza served as the senior domestic policy analyst at the White House under Reagan. Since then, backed by right-wing foundations (which have supported his work as a research fellow at the American Enterprise Institute and currently support his work as the Robert and Karen Rishwain Research Fellow at the Hoover Institution), D'Souza has written several books, including the racially charged The End of Racism: Principles for a Multiracial Society in 1995.

2. Wow. That's a name I haven't heard in years.
My next-door neighbor in college was Indian and a hardcore Republican- he practically worshipped D'Souza.

Is CNN going to bother mentioning his credentials as he comes on to "analyze" the news? I don't have a problem with partisan talking heads, just so long as there's full disclosure.

3. Dinesh d'Souza is a crass opportunist. In order to get the
adulation of the white power structure, he would say anything to denigrate black people. He knows that just like the token niggers of a bygone era his dark skin gives him a credibility and license to demean black people that a white bigot does not have.In addition to his dark skin as an Asian he can pose as a model minority forgetting that he and others from the Indian subcontinent arrived with a higher level of education than the black slaves did. He also conveniently forgets that it is the sacrifice of blacks, jews and other ethnic minorities that have smoothed the paths for darker skinned immigrants like him.

The Anglo-Indian community in India from which D'Souza comes was notorious for its toadying up to the British imperialist masters.
D'Souza is simply carrying on the tradition of his community.I despise this SOB.

4. He rails against affirmative action when...
if Dartmouth runs its admissions the same way Yale does, he himself got extra admission points for being an immigrant from a Third World country, and he has the nerve to pretend that he got in solely on merit and African-Americans don't.

There's a story of how he got involved with the conservatives at Dartmouth. As a freshman, he happened upon a gay men's dance on campus one Saturday night and was so traumatized by the sight that he fled to the comfort of other people who were opposed to such "immorality."
